Publishers support AP in infringement suit against Meltwater
The New York Times Co., Advance Publications Inc., Gannett Co., McClatchy Co., the Newspaper Association of America and BurrellesLuce have filed an amicus brief in support of The Associated Press in its infringement suit against Meltwater.
The brief was filed late Monday in U.S. District Court for the Southern District in Manhattan.
AP Acting General Counsel Laura Malone said: “AP is very pleased with this support. It demonstrates that the media community stands together in recognizing that Meltwater's business of appropriating and selling media content cannot be excused as fair use and instead is infringing.”
